Artistic Concept

The Origin of Water is a digital artwork and solo show by Dávid Norbert that explores the relationship between water, geological time, nature and human experience.

The work follows the journey of water from the formation of the Pannonian Basin, through the ancient landscapes and geological processes that shaped the region, to a simple yet deeply human moment: a person raising a glass of VERITAS mineral water to their lips.

Through cinematic imagery and a carefully constructed visual narrative, the artwork connects vast natural transformations with an intimate, everyday gesture. The movement of water becomes a passage through time — from the ancient sea and the depths of the Earth to the present moment, when nature becomes part of human life.

Water is presented not merely as a natural resource, but as a carrier of memory, a witness to geological change and a fundamental link between the Earth and humanity. The final encounter between water and the human body brings this immense journey into the present, transforming an ordinary act of drinking into a moment of awareness and connection.

Presented at the VERITAS stand during SIAL Paris 2026, The Origin of Water brings contemporary digital art into dialogue with natural heritage, sensory perception and the cultural meaning of water.

The work invites us to see every drop not as an isolated moment, but as part of a story that began long before us.

A mű központi gondolata, hogy egy korty vízben a Föld története találkozik az ember jelenével.

Dávid Norbert digitális alkotása a Pannon-medence kialakulásától követi a víz útját, a földtörténeti folyamatokon és a természet átalakulásain keresztül egészen addig a pillanatig, amikor a mai ember a szájához emeli a VERITAS ásványvizet.

A mű a geológiai időt személyes tapasztalattá alakítja. A víz egyszerre természeti örökség, az idő hordozója és az emberi élet alapvető eleme. A történet végén a hatalmas földtörténeti lépték egyetlen apró, hétköznapi gesztusban sűrűsödik össze.

A VERITAS standján bemutatott alkotás így nem csupán a víz eredetéről szól, hanem arról is, hogyan kapcsolódik össze a természet, az ember és a művészet egyetlen folytonos történetben.
